MAYOR SOLOMON’S BUDGET TOWN HALL #3

Join Mayor James Solomon for a Budget Town Hall with the community at the Al-Tawheed Islamic Center.
This Budget Town Hall is an opportunity for residents to hear directly from Mayor James Solomon about Jersey City’s current financial challenges and the development of the 2026-27 municipal budget.
The Mayor will provide an overview of the approximately $255 million budget deficit, explain the factors that contributed to the shortfall, and discuss the steps the administration has taken to reduce expenses and identify savings. The presentation will also address the proposed increase to the municipal tax rate, what it could mean for property owners and renters, and the options being considered to balance the budget while protecting essential City services.
A significant portion of the meeting will be reserved for residents to ask questions, raise concerns, share ideas, and provide feedback directly to the Mayor and his administration. The goal of the town hall is to give the community clear information about the City’s financial position and provide residents with a meaningful opportunity to participate in the budget conversation.
All Jersey City residents are welcome and encouraged to attend.
We look forward to seeing you there.
