Is your thumb getting sore from swiping on dating apps? You’re not alone. Many people would rather meet IRL! Try out your real-world conversation skills at a speed dating event hosted by Jersey City Connects, and have a meet-cute with a special somebody.

THE RULES

• You must be single
• You must be between 30 and 39
• Tired of Hinge deciding who you’re compatible with

WHAT TO EXPECT

1️⃣ Speed dating kicks off at 7 PM, so arrive a few minutes early to check in and get settled.

2️⃣ You’ll get 5 minutes with each person.

3️⃣ Meet 14 eligible singles in one night!

4️⃣ Fill out your match card with your preferences.

5️⃣ Get your matches within 48 hours to see if your meet-cute turns into something more.

What if I’m 29 or 40?

We keep age ranges focused so everyone’s in a similar life stage. If you’re close to the age range, you’re welcome to join.

What happens if I don’t get any matches?

It happens! Think of it as practice and a chance to meet people in the community. Many friendships start at these events too!

What should I wear?

Whatever makes you feel confident. Most people go casual since it’s a Thursday night.

What are good conversation starters?

Ask about their favorite spots in the area, what they’ve been into lately, or how they spend their weekends. Keep it curious and light – you’re just trying to see if there’s a connection, not conduct an interview.
