Lalah Hathaway is a five-time Grammy winner and one of the most respected voices in modern music. Known for her collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams, and Robert Glasper, her sound blends R&B, jazz, and experimental soul. She’ll take the stage alongside Revive Big Band, an ensemble that fuses hip-hop and big band traditions to honor the Black musical legacy.

The concert invites guests to wear all-black attire, creating a visually striking experience rooted in cultural pride and solidarity. It’s more than a performance. It’s a celebration of the Black creative economy through sound, storytelling, and community.

The Classic Black Concert in Jersey City will be held at Newark Symphony Hall: New Jersey’s oldest and largest arts and entertainment venue, with nearly 100 years of cultural legacy.

Originally opened in 1925 as the Salaam Temple, this iconic venue has hosted legends like Aretha Franklin, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Tony Bennett, Queen Latifah, and Patti LaBelle. Known affectionately as “The Mosque,” Newark Symphony Hall has been a cornerstone of Brick City’s cultural nightlife: a place where innovation, resilience, and performance converge.
