An Introduction to Weaving
Have you always wanted to learn to weave? Join us! We’ll explore plain weave and multi-shaft weaving on the BoomLoom Boss — a small handheld loom with a simple rotating bar that makes even complex woven structures easy and accessible.
In this two-and-a-half-hour class, you’ll learn a toolkit of techniques, including warping the loom, weaving plain weave, experimenting with twill-based patterns, how to finish and remove a piece from the loom, and how an online tool can help you plan your designs. Our focus is creative exploration — process instead of product — and our goal will be for each student to complete two sample pieces from the various techniques. No experience is needed, and all supplies and tools will be provided.
