DESCRIPTION:Overview\n\n\n\n\n\nPoetic Pages: Where Black Poets Speak honors the depth of local black poets and their stories.\n\n\n\nFaced with a collective forgetting\, we must fight to remember. – Reni Eddo That is the energy we are taking into celebrating Black History Month as we resist the erasure of our stories and work to preserve our stories. \nI am so is excited to partner with Hoboken Historical Museum & Poet in Residence Danny Shot for Poetic Pages: Where Black Poets Speak. 📖🖤This is a special tier of Mocha Mic with Millie platform that uplifts Black poets\, preserves their stories\, and creates space for connection and reflection. \nWe’ll feature three incredible local published Black poets sharing their publishing journeys\, creative processes\, and the depth of Black experience through their work. \nFeatured Poets\nDon Krypton -Poet\, comedian\, author of Ill-Logical\, and General Manager of Evoluculture. A driving force in New Jersey’s poetry scene. ⚡ He is also a founding member of the Newark Poetry Council and has performed and collaborated across the state. \nShakira Joi- Poet\, author of Stages of a Woman\, educator\, and founder of Technically Speaking Now\, blending tech\, storytelling\, and empowerment. 💻🖋️ She uses her poetry and teaching to spark reflection\, self-awareness\, and agency in underserved communities. \nJustin Johnson -Author\, poet\, and music artist (aka Johnson Soldout)\, blending words and music to tell his story. 🎶 He self-published Scattered in 2021 and continues to release poetry and music that explores identity\, creativity\, and life in New Jersey. \nEvent Details\n📅 Sunday\, February 22\, 2026\n⏰ 4:00–6:00 PM\n📍 Hoboken Historical Museum | 1301 Hudson St.\, Hoboken\, NJ 07030\n🎟️ Free Admission | Walk-ins welcome\n🎤 Limited Open Mic | First Come\, First Served\n📚 Poet books available for purchase\n🥂 Light bites & refreshments served \nCome celebrate the past\, honor the present\, and inspire the future by honoring the depth of Black poets and their stories.
