DESCRIPTION:Birthed in 2016 from a cross-section of beloved UK punk groups\, London’s High Vis have steadily become legends by virtue of their passionate performances and evolving discography of poetic\, progressive hardcore. Comprised of singer Graham Sayle\, drummer Edward “Ski” Harper\, bassist Jack Muncaster\, and guitarists Martin Macnamara and Rob Hammaren\, the band fuse the fury of English street punk with touches of Brit pop melody\, neo-psychedelia swirl\, wiry post-punk rhythm\, and even bits of Madchester groove. To Sayle\, such melting pot energy points the way forward: “For years hardcore had pretty clear boundaries – other scenes were separate worlds. Now things are getting more blended\, drawing from different places.” \nWith origins from various corners across the United Kingdom\, the group of musicians that make up High Vis represent the heart of DIY\, boot-strapping UK punk and hardcore. Formed by members from the bands Dirty Money\, Tremors\, City Dweller\, Reflect\, Shame\, and more\, High Vis fuses together the ethos of the broader hardcore community while bringing various musical influences and inspirations into the fold\, allowing them to touch new folks who may not have listened to past projects while simultaneously tipping their hat to longtime fans. \nIn 2019\, High Vis released their debut full-length No Sense No Feeling\, which put them on the map and opened the viewfinder for what the band could do beyond the parameters of any genre or scene. Painted with post-punk inspired textures and moods\, No Sense No Feeling laid a sonically adventurous foundation to which High Vis has expanded on throughout their career. In 2020\, High Vis released the Society Exists EP laced with vocal FX and synth lines further showcasing the band was not easy to pigeonhole or restrain. \nWith 2022’s breakout Blending\, High Vis expanded upon their self-described “post-industrial Britain misery punk” with an anthemic rock sound combined with baggy grooves. Lyrically\, the album was a leap forward for High Vis as frontman Sayle took a more principle role in writing the lyrics and melodies. Sayle’s took focus on social consciousness addressing the downtrodden and discarded communities across Britain while also looking at himself and his own emotional landscape. The process created something that feels universal and ultimately relays a message of hope. \nThe band’s third and latest full-length\, Guided Tour\, refines their lyricism and chemistry to its most potent nexus yet. Full of swagger and sneers\, hooks and hope\, revolt and righteous anger\, the album’s 10 tracks hit like anthems for a new England. And while the songs’ specifics often speak to their native country in particular\, the themes addressed are universal. Theirs is a camaraderie born of sweat and experience\, years in the trenches of ripping shows and shit jobs\, still fighting back\, still fighting for something better. High Vis are proving themselves protectors of the flame\, and avatars of the best hardcore has to offer.

DESCRIPTION:The Creative Drama Workshop will meet once a week for six weeks. \nLed by professional actor\, director\, and teacher Mr. Albert Insinnia\, the workshop will guide participants through theatre games\, structured improvisations\, and relaxation exercises. Activities are designed to inspire exploration of characters\, circumstances\, and environments. As the weeks progress\, exercises will be selected to match the growth of both individuals and the group. \nThe goal is not to train actors\, but to use the creative drama process to nurture imagination\, confidence\, and individuality—within a positive\, creative atmosphere. \nMr. Insinnia brings a wealth of experience\, having led creative drama workshops and classes throughout his career. In this workshop\, he will share insights gained from Theatre Games for the Classroom by Viola Spolin\, as well as lessons learned from some of the finest drama teachers in the country. \nAbout the Instructor: Albert Insinnia first appeared in the original Delacorte and Broadway productions of Joseph Papp’s Tony-award-winning Two Gentlemen of Verona.  He played Sonny in the original Broadway production of Grease\, costarred as Mordred with Richard Harris in the Broadway revival of Camelot\, and co-starred in Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris with the Village Gate cast. On television he is  the recurring character Lt. Pizelli on Law & Order SVU and has made guest appearances on many shows\, including M*A*S*H*. He is founder and artistic director of his own theatre company Oasis.nyTheatreGroup and has directed\, written and produced plays. DESCRIPTION:We’re excited to announce that Writer’s Circle is now meeting twice a month! \nJoin us for Writer’s Circle\, a 8-session workshop series for creative nonfiction and memoir led by Mary Slender. Writer’s Circle welcomes writers (18+) of all experience levels who are interested in casual yet reflective writing. Emphasis will be placed on enjoying writing while encouraging voice and identity\, all while in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. \nParticipants will write responses to a series of prompts and share with the group to receive positive and supportive feedback. Expect mutual respect\, enthusiasm and humor. \nWe’ll be meeting on the following dates:\nSeptember 3\nSeptember 17\nOctober 1\nOctober 15\nNovember 5\nNovember 19\nDecember 3\nDecember 17 \nMary Slender received her B.A. in English and MFA in Creative Writing from Rutgers University and an MAT from Montclair State University. Ms. Slender has taught English courses at Bergen Community College\, and Felician University in addition to her work as a high school English teacher. Prior to her career in education\, she worked at Scholastic Publishing. Also\, as an avid world traveler\, Ms. Slender just visited her 7th continent\, Antarctica! She looks forward to bringing her experience and passion for storytelling to this Writers Circle!

He has performed-in & produced shows Off-Broadway\, in theatre festivals across the nation\, and can be found on HBO\, ABC\, and major motion pictures. Logan’s directing degree (Miami University) paired with their “National B” Coaching Licence (USSF)\, gives them tools to train everyone into their full potential.
