DESCRIPTION:Liberty State Park is known to many as a local treasure. Volunteer to maintain this beautiful park while enjoying wonderful views of the harbor\, Lady Liberty\, and Ellis Island. Volunteers are needed to support various gardening projects including weeding\, mulching\, clean-up\, removing invasive botanical species and planting. \nThis is a light rain or shine event- heavy rain or snow will result in a cancelled project. We suggest you arrive by 8:45 am\, so volunteering can start on time.\n \nNEED-TO-KNOW \n\n\nWe will email where to meet the day before the project. Please call us if you did not receive the email on Friday before 3 pm. \n\n\n​Please be sure to wear closed-toed shoes/boots\, hats\, work gloves if possible\, insect repellent\, sunscreen\, and long pants to protect yourself while gardening \n\n\nBring water and snacks \n\n\nPlease read the description carefully and understand all volunteers must have the capacity to complete the tasks noted in the description above. Also understand that you can work according to your skills\, abilities\, age\, etc. and pace yourself where you can. Remember to have fun! \n\n\nAll projects have non-negotiable age restrictions that are noted on the upper right side of each project description. Children under 18 must have a parent or guardian on site at all times. DESCRIPTION:Join Bonnie McFarlane and local comics for a hilarious comedy night for a great cause! \n\n\n\n\nJoshua Lay\, Nick Fierro\, Jessica DeCanto\, Danny Braff\, and Bonnie McFarlane will be performing comedy in the spirit of fundraising for the local Jersey City four-legged community. Proceeds will be donated to PAD PAWS Animal Rescue. \nPAD PAWS Animal Rescue is a non-profit 501c3 organization specializing in abandoned and injured cats along the Hudson River (between Battery Park/NYC and Jersey City\, NJ). \nThe majority of their rescues include rehabilitation through foster care until a permanent home is found. They are not a TNR rescue group and do not take in surrendered pets. Their main focus is to rescue cats in immediate danger (due to construction sites\, urban development\, and busy city streets)\, and move them to safety through adoption. PAD PAWS handles all medical costs\, adoption\, education\, rehabilitation\, as well as assisting with other local community organizations in rescuing cats. \nMore information available here: https://padpawsrescue.org
