Writer’s Circle: Creative Nonfiction and Memoir

We’re excited to announce that Writer’s Circle is now meeting twice a month!

Join us for Writer’s Circle, a 8-session workshop series for creative nonfiction and memoir led by Mary Slender. Writer’s Circle welcomes writers (18+) of all experience levels who are interested in casual yet reflective writing. Emphasis will be placed on enjoying writing while encouraging voice and identity, all while in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

Participants will write responses to a series of prompts and share with the group to receive positive and supportive feedback. Expect mutual respect, enthusiasm and humor.

Mary Slender received her B.A. in English and MFA in Creative Writing from Rutgers University and an MAT from Montclair State University. Ms. Slender has taught English courses at Bergen Community College, and Felician University in addition to her work as a high school English teacher. Prior to her career in education, she worked at Scholastic Publishing. Also, as an avid world traveler, Ms. Slender just visited her 7th continent, Antarctica! She looks forward to bringing her experience and passion for storytelling to this Writers Circle!
