The Art of Salsa Dance – BEGINNER

The Art of Salsa Dance is back!

This Spring 2026, join us on Wednesdays from 6:00pm – 7:00pm for a fun and welcoming Salsa dance class where you’ll learn:

• Essential On1 technique

• Partner work

• Basic shines (solo footwork)

• Musical foundations that shape the many styles of salsa

Beginner level: No prior dance experience needed! This is an introductory class. Students will learn a style of salsa known as On1, including the basic step, a few basic shines (footwork), and beginner partner work (such as turns) that will help you start moving confidently around the dance floor.

All classes are open to adults and teens (ages 12+). Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes and bring your energy!

The Art of Salsa Dance is a community-rooted arts education program celebrating the cultural legacy of Salsa as an Afro-Caribbean and Latiné art form born of migration, resilience, and musical innovation.
