Combining classical training with the creative energy of graffiti, DISTORT has made an impact in both streets and galleries. Based in Jersey City, he holds a BFA from the University of Pennsylvania and a Certificate in Painting from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. His work blends sculptural installation and painting, including his iconic “scrolls” and “shields” shown in a 2016 solo exhibition in Philadelphia.
He has exhibited widely in the Tristate Area and created murals in Miami, Istanbul, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York, and across North Jersey. His project KINGDOM, just outside the Holland Tunnel, is one of New Jersey’s largest murals by a single artist.
