Jersey City Connects | Spring Hike (April)| Bull Hill

Join Jersey City Connects for a 5.5-mile spring hike on Bull Hill (Mount Taurus)!
THE TRAIL
Bull Hill in New York’s Hudson Highlands State Park Preserve is a challenging 5.5-mile loop featuring steady climbs, rocky terrain, and spectacular views of the Hudson River. With approximately 1,400 feet of elevation gain, this trail offers a workout.
On the way down, you’ll also pass through the atmospheric ruins of the historic Cornish Estate.

SPRING PACKING LIST
Here is what we recommend you wear on your hike:
Clothing Essentials
- Moisture-wicking base layer
- Mid layer (fleece or light puffer)
- Outer layer (windproof & water-resistant rain jacket)
- Hiking pants or leggings (moisture-wicking and flexible)
- Hiking socks (moisture-wicking recommended)
- Hiking boots (waterproof strongly recommended)
- Sun hat
- Sunglasses
Gear Essentials
- Daypack
- Trekking poles (optional)
- Water + snacks
- Phone
- Portable charger (optional)
- Lip balm
- Personal first aid kit (leaders carry a group kit)
- Post-hike socks & sneakers (can be left in the van/car)
Important: Please do not wear jeans or cotton. Cotton absorbs sweat and water, stays damp, and dries slowly — making you cold and uncomfortable fast.
EVENT DETAILS
9:00AM – Meet inside Le Cafe Coffee (444 Warren St)
9:15AM – Depart
10:30AM – Arrive at the hike entrance
2:30PM – Conclude hike!
2:45PM – Lunch at Hudson Valley Food Hall
4:30PM – Head back to Jersey City
5:45PM – Arrive in Jersey City
