Berlin Wall Installation Unveiling

Join Craig Guy, Hudson County Executive, the Hudson County Board of Commissioners and the Hudson County Parks Department as they unveil a piece of world history right here in Hudson County!

A symbol of peace and the end to the Cold War, this section of the Berlin Wall was received as a gift from Hudson County’s sister county Oberhavel located just north of Berlin. Oberhavel County in Brandenburgh Germany and Hudson County have been sister counties since 2000 in which the two counties have been involved with student, cultural and sports exchanges. At the direction of Karl-Heinz Schroter, (Oberhavel County Executive) in coordination with Hudson County’s director of “Cultural Affairs and Tourism” Bill LaRosa, this section of Wall was obtained and transported to Hudson County from East Berlin in 2007.
